Background

IMT offers offshore management and administration including provision of corporate directors, trustees, bank accounts, and secured corporate credit cards. The founder of International Management & Trust Services (IMT) first offered offshore financial planning through the Cayman Islands in the late sixties. During the following thirty years, changing legislation resulted in other countries becoming more appealing as domiciles for asset protection. As an early proponent of multi-venue planning, the company now provides services in a variety of attractive jurisdictions including Antigua, Barbados, Belize, Panama, St. Kitts/Nevis St. Vincent & the Grenadines and Dominica.

Through our associations with professionals in law, accounting, real estate, banking, insurance and brokerage services, IMT coordinates offshore financial structuring throughout the region and has the capacity to open offshore brokerage accounts.

In 1996, at the invitation of the Minister for Finance in the Commonwealth of Dominica, our group submitted recommendations contributing to the enactment of offshore financial legislation; considered to be among the most progressive in the industry. Thereafter, IMT was appointed by the Government of Dominica as a Licensed Registered Agent to facilitate the incorporation of International Business Companies (IBCs), and to process applications for Offshore Banks, and Internet Gaming Licenses. IMT also coordinates Economic Citizenship applications in Dominica and St. Kitts/Nevis, and registers offshore Asset Protection Trusts (APTs) and Private Foundations, in various venues..

IMT has been responsible for the formation of the majority of companies registered in the country.
Most of these IBCs were generated through a worldwide network of Professional Associates (PAs) consisting primarily of Attorneys, Accountants and Financial Planning Consultants.

Privacy and Litigation Protection

In a recently published book, some startling information regarding ‘predatory litigation’, was set forth.

1. "5% or less of the world's population resides in the U.S.
2. 20% or thereabouts, of the world economy is US based.
3. 70% of the world's lawyers reside in the US
4. 94% of the world's lawsuits are initiated in the US
5. There are presently well over 700,000 practicing lawyers in the US and there are more students in law schools than there are in practice."
   

This has resulted in an explosion of litigation in the United States.
Unscrupulous attorneys have been known to encourage clients to sue for frivolous reasons, and at the slightest provocation. By properly structuring holdings offshore, protection can be afforded against such predatory legal action.
